Full-time Staff Accountant position available immediately for our Finance Department in Silver Spring, MD. The Staff Accountant is responsible with the accounting team to analyze and post on a 1.) daily basis all receipts and disbursements by revenue source and grant; 2.) biweekly preparation of payroll; and 3.) monthly preparation of grant invoices and financial statements in a timely manner which includes creating journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. Maintains details and explanations for journal entries and submits to Controller for approval.

Assist in the preparations of grants reports to various agencies as assigned. Maintains information supporting the allocation of indirect and overhead expenses. Allocates overhead for internal and external reporting. Assists in the preparation of budget variance analysis reports. Assists in general accounting functions such as payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Assists in annual financial audit including preparation of audit schedules. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Controller.

Education and/or Experience:

• Must have either a Bachelors or an Associates degree in Accounting with three years minimum of three years' experience in general accounting or 3 years experience in non-profit fund accounting or comparable experience.
• Sage Intacct experience required
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to perform statistical analysis.
• Must be able to compile, interpret, and utilize information.
• Must be able to resolve accounting irregularities.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
