The Senior Software Engineer ensures efforts are in alignment with the Lumicera IT department to support customer-focused objectives and the IT Vision, a collaborative partner delivering innovative ideas, solutions and services to simplify people’s lives. The Senior Software Engineer serves as a lead role in the analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance of existing and new software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. As a senior team member, the Senior Software Engineer acts as a leader to ensure adherence to project timelines and deliverables and mentors less experienced team members as required. The Senior Software Engineer collaborates with the business teams to develop business requirements and provide guidance for possible and recommended solutions. As a developer, the Senior Software Engineer’s role will also include research, design, documentation, and modifications to software specifications throughout the product development life cycle.

How do I make an impact on my team?

• Provide superior customer service utilizing a high-touch, customer centric approach focused on collaboration and communication.
• Grow existing relationships and collaborate with business team customers, Business Analysts and Project Managers.
• Educate business customers in the methodology of design and development to guide effective use of business and technical resources time.
• Leader in system architecture. Responsible for the review of all design, coding and testing that is performed on supported systems.
• Mentor other programmers in the architecture and design of supported systems.
• Code reviews on an as needed basis to ensure conformity to company development guidelines.
• Assist with providing high level design, development, implementation plans and estimations on a project-by-project basis.
• Review critical systems at regular intervals to ensure stability, accuracy and performance of the system and data.
• Identify roadblocks or areas of concern and bring potential solutions to management’s attention.
• Research and identify new technologies and technology upgrades which will enhance the ability to deliver robust solutions.

What our team expects from you?

• College degree typically in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering, and must have 8+ years of professional development experience
• Proven technical leadership within a team and an organization
• Proficient development skills utilizing .NET Core, C#, JavaScript, and Angular
• Experience using git and Azure DevOps (TFS) to manage development codebases
• Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices including object oriented programming
• Excellent understanding of application performance and tuning using development techniques such as caching and application gateway
• Experience developing and implementing RESTful APIs including routes secured with an enterprise grade identity management platform
• Experience developing and implementing a role based security model

• Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
• The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees
