QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Oregon Speech Language Pathology Assistant Certificate.
• Experience working with school-aged students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of speech and language therapy techniques and interventions.
• Physical ability to maneuver approximately 40 pounds of equipment.
• Ability to pass a criminal background/fingerprint check ($66) and demonstrate a clean driving record
• Provide proof of COVID vaccination or a medical/religious exemption.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists the Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) with screenings and providing direct treatment to identified students by preparing work, lesson plans, materials, etc. addressing IEP goals.
• Communicates with staff, principal, and special education team about IEP goals for the purpose of maintaining an open dialogue and creating a positive collaborative environment.
• Maintains files/records and updates student service logs daily.
• Participates in students’ daily activities, when applicable, in order to support and reinforce functional communications of social and daily living skills lesson objectives.
• Participates in meetings with supervisor, site Special Education team and training, staff development, and workshops for the purpose of conveying and/or receiving information, discussing students’ progress, and brainstorming about next steps.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

WAGES & BENEFITS: $23.00 - $25.38 per hour, DOE and per OSEA Union Agreement
