Full Time Special Education Teachers opportunities in our Brookville, Woodbury, Westbury and New Hyde Park schools.

Brookville Center for Children’s Services is an Office of Children & Family Services (OCFS) approved and licensed Day Care Program and State Education Department (SED) approved program. Children are afforded an enriching experience and adhere to the New York State Standards of Early Childhood Learning. Activities such as music, arts and crafts, language, motor, pre-academic and technology are taught by appropriately credentialed staff.

For Preschool Special Education Teachers, you’ll need:

· Knowledge of Early Childhood Education, Child Development, required through completion of a Master’s Degree in Special Education.

· New York State Certification in Special Education required

· Birth-2 certification

· Minimum one (1) year early childhood related experience to plan individual education plans (IEP’s) to meet the special needs of each child preferred. Prior early childhood teaching experience with a special education preschool required.

Teacher Aides, you will need:

· High school diploma/GED and college credits in early childhood.

· NYS Teacher Assistant Certification (ATAS) within 6 months of hire date.

· State Central Registry Clearance; Workshop-School Violence Intervention and Prevention.

· Good communication skills.

· Demonstrated willingness and aptitude working for individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.

Brookville Center for Children’s Services serves students 3-21 years of age with multiple disabilities, intellectual disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and autism.

Brookville Center for Children’s Services at New Hyde Park serves students 3-5 years of age with multiple disabilities and autism.
