This position is Contingent Upon Contract Award
Purpose:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Underway Replenishment Division at Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division.
Job Description:
  • Revise and provide control system software for UNREP Systems such as E-STREAM.
  • Define and maintain a Software Development Plan.
  • Support configuration management efforts to create and maintain software and firmware configuration management.
  • Support the plan for managing, tracking, and storing software and firmware revisions during development and post-deployment to ensure configuration control of development as well as fielded software, prior to being turned over to government control.
  • Support Information Assurance Analyses and Plans for E-STREAM systems. An Information Assurance (IA) Analysis and Plan is required to determine and eliminate the potential for damaging internal and external threats to the system software to ensure a high level of cyber security.
  • Develop, revise and provide software models for UNREP System.
  • Develop, revise, and provide control system software using Ladder Logic for supportability solutions for Navy Standard UNREP systems utilizing a development environment compatible with the PLC(s) used in the design of this system.
  • Support Troubleshooting and CASREPS of fielded UNREP software and UNREP Training Site Software.
Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in engineering, computer science, math or physics.
  • Must have at least 8 years’ experience in performing machinery control software design, software testing, analysis, and technical documentation updates.
  • Must have at least 4 years’ specific experience in developing Ladder Logic software for multi-axis control systems, similar to the E-STREAM system.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with IEEE/EIA Standard 12207-Software Life Cycle processes.
  • Experience creating and refining Software Development Plans.
  • NSWC experience supporting software development.
  • Software Development supporting an USN Design Agent.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science from an accredited university.
Security Requirements:
  • Must have an Active DoD Secret security clearance or clearance in interim.
  • Must have the ability to gain access to private and public shipyards and Naval installations.
Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional travel- Up to 25%
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (no later than position start date) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.

  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
