North Wind Construction Services provides heavy civil construction services with special expertise in mine reclamation, repository construction and operation, landfill closures, and stream restoration. Job Description

Site Safety Representative for long term position at the Department of Energy Y-12 site. Project is heavy construction. Knowledge and experience with concrete formwork, steel erection, electrical installation, cranes, aerial lifts, fall protection, fire protection, and other construction safety. This job implements the requirements of 29CFR1926 at a U.S. DOE site. DOE requirements of 10CFR851 and DOE Order requirements are in effect. The successful candidate will be experienced as a field safety representative and inspector observing and coaching the work force to implement Integrated Safety Management in a Safety Conscious Work Environment.


Qualifications

  • Five to ten years OSHA construction safety experience.
  • Experience with construction site inspection helping assure compliance with requirements.
  • Ability to work together and get along with craft, superintendents, and professionals to achieve zero injuries and incidents.
  • Expertise with recordkeeping, first aid, PPE, walking and working surfaces, fall protection, noise, HAZCOM, cranes, hoisting and rigging, fire protection, welding, electrical, scaffolds, aerial lifts, formwork, steel erection, and the resto of 29CFR1926.
  • Recognition of the differences between working at a DOE site versus general industry/construction.
  • A background security check is required.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience at a DOE site.
  • Industrial hygiene monitoring experience.
  • Completion of OSHA 30-hour training.
  • Experience with training and recordkeeping
