Job Description

Job Title: Foreman

Supervisor: Superintendent

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Job Site. Travel throughout the U.S.

Summary
Perform tasks involving physical labor for concrete construction projects. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. May clean and prepare sites, install rebar, grind and shoot concrete, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in concrete repair projects; perform manual work in preparing surfaces for concrete.
  • Shovels concrete out of silos.
  • Ability to run/supervise crew when Superintendent is off-site.
  • Erects platforms and scaffolding.
  • Installs and ties reinforcing steel.
  • Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
  • Loads and unloads equipment and supplies from trailers.
  • Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces, and patches holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound.
  • Grinds concrete cracks, prepares to receive caulk and caulk defined cracks in concrete.
  • Installs carbon fiber on structures during structural repairs.
  • Operates construction defined equipment.
  • Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
  • Brings problems and concerns to the attention of the Superintendent, Safety Director or Human Resources Director.
  • Understands general grain operations.
  • Assists Superintendent with executing and documenting daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) meetings.
  • Ability to operate and conduct basic troubleshooting of wet pump and dry gun equipment and system.
  • Shoots both dry and wet per ASA standards verified by authorized personnel.
  • Successfully completed the training for the maintenance, service and operation of Hilo Climbers.
  • Possesses understanding of all required work site permits including: confined space, hot work, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), etc.
  • Initiates self-study of American Shotcrete Association (ASA) manual and maintain log of shooting hours.
  • Demonstrates understanding of concrete mixes (good/bad and wet/dry).
  • Ability to construct interior hilo decks and exterior decks or modulars.
  • Understands project up-selling opportunities and options.
  • Assists Superintendent with material and equipment logistics which includes ordering concrete.
  • Regular and dependable attendance is an essential function of this job.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position periodically runs/supervises crew when Superintendent is off-site.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations To perform this job, an individual must have and/or obtain the following certifications, licenses and/or registrations.

Valid Driver's License
OSHA 10 Hour Certification (will train)
OSHA 30 Hour Certification (will train)

MSHA Experienced Miner Certification (will train)

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places and outside weather conditions.
