Bachelor's degree. Two years of customer service or marketing experience are required. Additional experience in customer service or marketing may substitute for the required college education on a year for year basis.

This position will be responsible for creating social media campaigns and the day-to-day management of the Department’s social media accounts. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for building and executing social media strategies through competitive research, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification. The incumbent in this position will work alongside team members from the Media & Public Relations Bureau to produce, edit, publish, and share content that builds meaningful connections with the community and amplify important messaging on the Department’s services and public safety information for major incidents and breaking news.

This position will be responsible for creating and overseeing editorial calendars and syndication schedules to coordinate the production of social media campaigns. In addition, the incumbent in this position will be responsible for using analytical tools to monitor, track and analyze performance results for reports and digital campaign recaps to ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met. This position will require the use of verbal and written communication skills, skills in using tools for analyzing and managing social media platforms, and the editing of content (graphics, photos, and videos) using digital technologies to meet the goals of social media campaigns. The incumbent will be required to work with other members of the Media & Public Relations Bureau during department events, major incidents, and times of breaking news to disseminate information to stakeholders and members of the public. The incumbent in this position will be communicating with a diverse audience and will need to provide timely and accurate information to members of the community and partner agencies. The incumbent will be required to perform additional related duties as needed.
