Aptus is looking for a compassionate social worker to help serve students with disabilities in the greater Los Angeles area. Contribute to the Aptus experience by assisting our clients who are affected by issues such as neglect, child abuse, domestic violence, mental health, and parental substance abuse. The position will require that you work in person, in a high school setting (wellness center) and at alternative sites. You would be assisting with interns, handling caseloads, and helping the Mental Health Program Specialist.

Hiring for 2023-2024 School Year

Schedule: Monday to Friday, School Hours

Pay Range: $35 - $50 (PPS Credential) $40 - $52 (LCSW)

Requirements

  • Must be licenced as an MFT, Clinical Social Worker, Professional Clinical Counselor and/or PPS
  • Within 60 days of hire, provision of TB (tuberculin) clearance, as mandated by the California Education Code
  • CA DOJ and FBI fingerprint (Livescan) clearance prior to the first day of school
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Minimum of one (1) years of successful experience in a position performing pupil personnel services and/or related functions in a school setting (such as School Counselor, Social Worker, or related occupation) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate community and school programming to foster healthy families, through avenues such as parent education and community services
  • Inform students and parents of mental health, medical, and social services, providing necessities such as food, clothing, and housing
  • Participate in multiple-disciplinary assessment teams towards assessing students’ mental health needs
  • Develop individual behavior plans for individual students.
  • Work with school and district personnel to obtain assistance from community agencies in order to help students and/or their families
  • Routinely update students’ caseloads, and perform other duties as assigned
