Description:Primary task is to support development and qualification of missile/fire control systems.

Candidate will review product systems, associated support equipment and facilities, functional specifications and operations, and establish safety requirements for assigned systems.

Independently analyzes and recommends safety criteria in system design, equipment and procedures to control or eliminate hazards.

Will perform hazard analyses including sub and system hazard analyses, bent pin analysis, software system safety assessment, hazardous material management planning and execution.

Will support safety board activities.

Develops safety documents as required to support customer and test/operational range requirements.

Participates in accident investigations involving damage to products or related facilities and assists in identification of causes and corrective actions.

Evaluates the interrelationship of system safety requirements and other aspects of concept design and development requirements to ensure the most cost-effective program.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience developing and interpreting system safety / flow-down requirements.
  • Experience performing Safety Hazard analyses.
  • Possess strong Computer Skills and Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of software products.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with developing and delivering presentations to peers as well as management.
  • Previous experience with military products.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
Desired Skills:
  • Secret clearance with current 5 year background check.
  • Strong electrical background with a good mechanical understanding.
  • System Safety Program Plan Development and execution of MIL STD 882 activities.
  • Software Safety analysis per AMCOM 385-17 and AOP 52.
  • Experience preparing for U.S Government Safety Review Boards (develop technical data package & presentation).
  • Missile and/or launcher safety experience.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
