REGIONAL SALES MANAGER FOR HEAVY EQUIPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The RSM will represent Great Southern Equipment in an upstanding professional manner.
  • Manage a team of 5-8 full-time Territory Sales Managers (TSM)
  • Responsible for daily management and leadership of TSMs team to include:
  • Conduct ride-along/joint sales calls to drive sales efforts and promote new customer acquisition while driving customer retention.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide ongoing performance feedback for areas of improvement.
  • Manage and lead the TSM team in the execution of key areas of focus ( account management, new business prospecting, effective CRM utilization, product training)
  • Responsible for the overall performance and managing their team of TSMs metrics including sales, market share, productivity, and profitability
  • Monitor business trends, market intelligence, customer and trade attitudes, competitive practices, and product performance characteristics and effectively communicate to the leadership team and their direct reports.
  • Identify areas where a continuous improvement in structure, processes, and incentives will further increase the company’s sales and profitability.
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales to develop and prioritize new business opportunities, personnel decisions, market share growth potentials, customer satisfaction, and recruitment of high-potential sales talent.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with all key customers throughout their team of TSMs.
  • Manage team to create value-selling-based quotes suited for the customer needs utilizing manufacturer’s programs and financing options when applicable.
  • Plan and organize sales strategies to include individual account plans to meet or exceed company targets for units, market share, dollars, and gross profits.

  • Other duties as assigned by management

REGIONAL SALES MANAGER FOR HEAVY EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS (Skills, Technology, and Physical Requirements):

  • Experience in the Heavy Equipment industry is a must.
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally as appropriate for the needs of customers and coworkers.
  • Excellent customer satisfactions skills and the ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
  • Proven ability to effectively market products, negotiate terms, and close deals.
  • Strong business acumen including but not limited to budgeting, financial analysis, forecasting, and setting performance goals.
  • Experience managing and developing a sales force.
  • Self-starter, proactive, strategic thinker, and resourceful.
  • Strong interpersonal leadership skills
  • Effective organizational, time management, and priority-setting skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is desired.
  • Proficient in managing a sales force utilizing CRM-based software.
  • Ability to travel within a region, work flexible hours, and work in various environmental conditions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, quickly evaluate facts and maintain good judgment when making decisions.
  • Valid driver’s license and must meet insurance driving requirements in order to operate a company vehicle when necessary.
  • Physical ability to climb in and out of vehicles and equipment used for demonstration purposes.
  • 5 years of sales experience
