Job Summary:
This position will create machine, engine and component repair quotes, and standard jobs as requested by their designated Regional branches. This person will review quotes and standard jobs to analyze their usage, efficiency and accuracy of both parts and labor. This position will build quotes in PSQ for the designated service departments and product support salesmen. This position will focus on accuracy and bringing consistency in formatting all service quotes. This position will work with their Regional Product Support Manager to keep them abreast of quote activity, the accuracy of quotes and any issues found during the process. This position reports to the Centralized Product Support Pricing and Processes Group Manager.
Responsibilities:

  • Develop, create, review and maintain quotes and Standard Jobs. Decides the appropriate parts associated with a variety of repair options following a consistent template, sets time requirements and scope of work. Following the creation of quotes and standard jobs, evaluates the process and determines any corrective action and provides recommendations to improve service performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement solutions to improve quote accuracy and reduce service variance. Works with service management to identify opportunities for performance improvement and ensure that the quote or standard job time is in line with actual time worked.
  • Strive to improve service variance by reviewing and analyzing the scope of repair work and standard job performance.
  • Create and conduct training of quoting procedures and standard jobs at designated Fabick locations.
  • Maintain a high level of technical proficiency through DPC courses, classroom trainings or self-training to increase level of mechanical competencies to ensure thorough knowledge of equipment and engines.
  • Create customer quotes in Parts and Service Quoter (PSQ)
  • Provide additional assistance in managing and tracking large machine rebuilds, by holding a kickoff meeting with the performing store to review the specifics of the repair and track the job performance throughout the repair process.

Requirements: Qualifications:

  • Associate degree (2 year) or equivalent experience, is preferred.
  • Prior experience with heavy equipment operations is beneficial.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience is preferred
  • Candidate must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; high critical thinking ability.
  • Strong knowledge of computer software programs with proficiency in using a variety of software applications especially Microsoft Word & PowerPoint including extensive knowledge in Excel.
  • Ability to set goals, manage multiple projects simultaneously while establishing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, Caterpillar and other Fabick employees at all levels.
  • Ability to run reports, analyze data and draw conclusions from the information to offer recommendations to others.
  • Ability to create and present value-based alternatives and solutions to internal customers based on your own conclusions and recommendations.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to help inspect equipment when preparing major quotes
