Regional Animal Control Officer (Full-Time)
The Northeastern Connecticut Council of Governments (NECCOG) has an immediate opening for a full-time Regional Animal Services Officer. This position, on a routine basis, or as assigned, enforces domestic animal protection laws to protect the safety and rights of the public and the welfare of domestic animals. Tasks and responsibilities include responding to reports of vicious animals, animal cruelty, animal pick-up and confinement, responding to property damage complaints, preparing reports, representing NECCOG and testifying in court.
Most work is performed in the field with considerable independence within the limits of current regulations, laws, codes, policies and accepted procedures.
Qualifications: Connecticut Department of Agriculture ACO Certification and two or more years of animal control experience - preferred; Connecticut certification (within six months of appointment or when the next certification is offered by the state for such certification) as a
