Recovery Specialist - $750 Sign on bonus for new agency hires

Location: Punta Gorda

The Recovery Center (RC) is a 15-bed, 28-day residential substance use treatment program for adults. The RC employs Recovery Specialists and clinicians to provide intensive, structured treatment to persons that have serious, chronic substance use disorder(s) (SUD). By providing a safe, substance-free environment, patients have the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary to live a substance-free lifestyle. Therapeutic services include individual, group, and family/significant other counseling; medication management, psychoeducation; overdose prevention and safety planning; relapse prevention; and life skills training.

Position Summary

Employee plans, facilities, and participates in groups and therapeutic activities in coordination with the treatment team. Group activities include substance use education, life skills training, employment skills, symptom management, relapse prevention, and recreational activities. The Recovery Specialist will complete accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record, ensure implementation of daily schedule, provides updates regarding patient participation, provides direct care to patients, assist with admissions and discharges, answer questions, and provide redirection and intervention as needed. Employee assists with establishing, coordinating, and scheduling outside meetings such as AA, NA, etc and ensure these are part of the approved daily schedule.

Minimum Requirements

• High School or equivalent preferred
• One-year experience working in a behavioral health/substance use environment required (experience in residential services preferred)
• Knowledge of recovery process and motivational interviewing preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; to include verbal de-escalation
• Ability to document in an electronic medical record
• Ability to demonstrate compliance with CBHC policies and procedures; especially confidentiality and CBHC's code of ethics.
