SUMMARY

We are currently seeking an RCM Representative to join our ED Admitting and Registration team. This .20 FTE (16 hours per pay period) role will work on-site (evening and every other weekend).

Working under close supervision, provides clerical support to Revenue Cycle Management. Responsible for reviewing and processing insurance claims according to payor terms and internal guidelines.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs a variety of routine tasks related to general revenue cycle operations
  • Assists with information gathering and retrieval using in-person, telephone, and computer based methods
  • Verifies information for accuracy including patient demographic, insurance benefits, payor coverages and related information etc.
  • May perform tasks via a work queue
  • Performs tasks in accordance with established work standards for department
  • May update and maintain patient/provider/payor information both manually and electronically
  • May conduct patient/visitor transactions such as cashiering, customer service, front desk, etc.
  • Acts on knowledge of HCMC practices, procedures, policies and job tasks to complete most assignments under direct supervision
  • Other duties as assigned, after trained

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma
  • 1 year clerical experience in health care or medical insurance environment, preferably in a revenue cycle operations: billing/claims, patient accounting, collections, admissions, registration, etc.

  • An approved equivalent combination of education and experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of patient billing claims process
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Keyboarding or typing skills
  • Previous experience using computer systems
