Plan, initiate, coordinate, and execute traditional and agile Information Technology projects to meet customer requirements, including scope, schedule, and budget. Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Types of projects include: IT infrastructure in new construction, lifecycle of network assets, implementation of new technology, upgrades of mission critical services, network architecture redesigns, implementation of contact center related features, etc.

2. Coordinate project planned related customer, engineering staff, and external vendor activities.

3. Support the project and technology engineering staff.

4. Author and submit project documentation and reports.

5. Learn existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services in use at Liberty University.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree

2. 1-3 years of project management experience

3. Good verbal / written communication skills

4. Highly self-motivated

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Prior experience in an IT related field.

2. Project Management Institute certification (CAPM or PMP certification)

3. Work experience in a higher education setting.

4. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

5. Ability to understand, speak and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.

6. Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates.

7. Strong organizational skills.

8. Excellent computer skills.

9. Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgement in order to solve problems of both a routine and a complex nature.

10. Good and positive attitude, hardworking and diligent with an eagerness to learn.

11. Ability to work independently, pro-active, fast to react and able to handle pressure and take initiatives under the company’s directions.

12. Professional individual with integrity.

Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Excellent computer and organizational skills. Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
