Required License/Registration/Certification
Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements
This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds. Also involves some job-related travel (less than 10% of time); exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens.

Shift
Currently operating out of Chandler Retail Pharmacy. Position supports Meds To Beds service which currently rotates shifts between 7:00am – 7:00pm. Targeted shift is a 7on/7off position requiring hours to reach 75 hours per 2 week pay period. Rotation includes weekend shifts during hours of operation. The position does require some holiday rotation. Hours and shifts worked may change based on the needs of the service.

Job Summary
Assist pharmacist(s) in; reviewing/entering patient allergies and triaging medication related problems identified via communication with pharmacists, other providers, or patients. Assists pharmacist(s) with M2B prescription processing and distribution to patients / families within the Chandler or Good Samaritan hospital(s). Collects prescriptions and patient information required to process prescriptions under the direction of a pharmacist; delivers medications to patients; collects payment using a point of sale system, use of multiple computer devices and programs for adequate documentation are required.

This position is eligible for a recruitment bonus. Additional details will be provided during the hiring process should your application be selected to move forward.
The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $18.50/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience.
This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ( CMS ). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022. This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID -19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID -19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted.

Preferred Education/Experience
One year of previous work experience (in a related field). Prefer previous pharmacy tech experience or work/classes in medical field. Hired candidate must maintain state licensure in good standing. Prefer 1 year of full-time (or pro-rated) pharmacy technician experience and must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
