Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist ambulatory client with mobility and toileting
  • Care for clothing (washing, drying, ironing, and putting away/hanging up)
  • Assist or administer bed or tub bath, sponge bath, shower, or setting up supplies
  • Assist with dressing client
  • Assist and/or perform hair care
  • Assist and/or perform skin care for normal unbroken skin
  • Mouth care (including dentures)
  • Make an occupied or unoccupied bed
  • Assist with mobility without assistive devices
  • Assist with proper food handling, food storage, and pest control
  • Prepare client for mealtime and assist with feeding
  • Record vital signs (BP, temp, HR, and resp) and recording blood sugar
  • Observe, record, and report self administered medications
  • Apply/remove prosthetic devices for stable clients
  • Recognize and report indicators of abuse, neglect, illness etc. to proper official
  • Provide basic first aid
  • Respond to emergency needs as they occur per company policy
  • Assist to find/use community services
  • Provide companionship/emotional support
  • Perform reading/writing tasks

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • 44-59 hours of classroom and/or documented on the job training
