Job Summary:

We're looking for a Peoples Operations Specialist who will be responsible for managing our benefits administration, corporate program and services, company events, new hire onboarding, policy implementation, and regulatory compliance. Incumbent will also support Director of People Operations with compensation program initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Position does not have direct reports.

Essential Responsible Accountabilities:

  • Administer all benefit plans, 401k, and leaves; responds to employee and management inquiries, and provides guidance, assesses, and tracks eligibility, prepares, and maintains correspondence, and processes claims in accordance with federal and state regulations. (FMLA, ADA, COBRA, etc.). Process STD and LTD claims, and open enrollment.
  • Meticulously audit benefit reports to ensure accuracy, completion, and relevance
  • Resolve employee issues with insurance providers. Respond promptly and courteously to inquiries from multiple sources and consult with employees about eligibility and other issues.
  • Responsible for maintaining employee benefit files, SPDs, and other plan documents according to record retention requirements and established guidelines.
  • Support Director of People Operations with compensation initiatives and programs
  • Assist in creating and distributing monthly communication to staff regarding employee wellness, benefits, and other general People Ops-related information.
  • Researches and stays current with changes in benefits and related legislation.
  • Makes recommendations for process improvement and accurate workflow and creates and updates process documentation.
  • Responsible for managing company events in collaboration with People Operations Team to identify and recommend quarterly events, and other employee engagement activities
  • Administer various People Operations programs and services for the company in partnership with the Director of People Operations and team
  • Maintain People Operations information system records and compiles reports from various employee reporting systems to include, employee metrics, when warranted
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
  • Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing, when warranted
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned



Education and Experience:

  • Candidate will have at least 2 plus years of benefit/HR administration experience and certification in a related field such as Benefits or Human Resources or 2 plus years in benefit administration and a bachelor's degree in related field.
  • At least 1 year of compensation experience as it relates to surveys, merit increases, promotions, transfers, etc.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism in dealing with confidential information.
  • At least 1 year payroll experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint, MS Teams (Microsoft 0365)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with proven experience in employee communications.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Paylocity and Employee Navigator experience, a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires the effective use of office equipment including, but not limited to, computers, phones, and printers
  • Ability to sit at computer terminal for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate via telephone
  • Ability to communicate in an active office environment
  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
