Job Title: People & Culture Business Partner - Albuquerque
Reports to: Sr. HR Manager
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Salary Range: $65,000 - 75,000

Position Objective:

We are looking for a highly motivated, engaged, committed individual with relevant Human Resources experience that has an interest to work in the emerging cannabis industry. The primary objective of this field-based position is to provide support for people and culture, including employee relations, employee engagement, performance management, talent management, employee development, compensation execution, onboarding and recruitment support. The People & Culture Business Partner will be responsible for creating, executing and administering company policy while serving as a consultant to location and regional leaders to ensure people and culture programs foster a productive and fun workplace environment that drives the business forward. The role will execute the tactical, day-to-day support for the managers in which they support, while maintaining a focus on employee advocacy and driving engagement by having visibility within the geography in which they support. This is a “hands on” position that requires extensive interaction and visibility within all levels of the organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Delivers HR strategies and services within a function(s) to effectively build the organizational capability required to achieve business goals and imperatives.
  • Translates HR &business strategies and works collaboratively with the business to link HR products and services into plans that help deliver business results
  • Develop organizational capability by providing thought leadership guiding the team through effective change management, talent management, employee relationship management, and performance management
  • Utilizes insights of the operation & culture to enhance execution of all HR processes
  • Understands the operating environment and applies this knowledge to implement HR services to enhance business results
  • Provides thought leadership to specialist groups to improve existing processes or the development of new processes
  • Translates company culture into supportive organizational & individual behaviors & utilizes HR practices, processes to advance the culture
  • Brings change management skills to lead change projects impacting people or people processes – projects executed on time, within budget, and with intended impact
  • Develops insights from people data (engagement survey, exit interview, etc.)
  • Partners with management to facilitate companywide surveys and create/maintain/update action plans within support group.
  • Applies performance and development expertise to deliver better ways to develop employees/managers and raise the bar on performance
  • Provides leadership in facilitation of company performance management processes, including annual reviews, manager training, communications and compensation review processes.
  • Partners with Total Rewards Manager to document, validate and ensure consistency in the creation of, maintenance and execution of all bonus programs within the company.
  • Leads core people processes including employee relations and ensure consistent approach to service delivery
  • Provides employee relations support and guidance on matters relating to performance, EEOC, unemployment compensation, harassment claims, code of conduct violations, etc.
  • Partner with leadership to identify and support solutions for people matters, including onboarding, compensation programs, employee development, investigations, leave administration, performance management and succession planning.
  • Provides support to talent acquisition team as needed and assists in the facilitation of new hire orientation / onboarding
  • Provides thought leadership on and executes L&D strategies, programs and content creation as identified by the VP of HR
  • Lead an open-door culture where employees feel heard and issues are quickly resolved, while maintaining a focus on visibility in the field and within assigned support groups
  • Consistently maintain a true hands-on approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the pulse of employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement.
  • Assist in addressing field needs (emergency, safety, regulatory and compliance, etc.) as needed.
  • Assist in other human resources and people matters as directed.

Education and Experience Required:

  • 2+ years of human resources generalist responsibilities or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree or related experience
  • Prior experience supporting multiple locations as the HR focal point
  • Experience creating and administering HR policies and procedures

Knowledge and Other Required Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced corporate and/or start-up environment
  • Flexibility with schedule and hours at needs of business
  • Demonstrated ability to accept and learn from coaching
  • Commitment to ongoing self-development and learning
  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and with exceptional integrity and discretion
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed organizational skills with deadline and detail-orientation

  • Ability to focus, prioritize, and manage time efficiently and effectively
  • High proficiency with MS Office suite
  • Strong knowledge of various HRMS systems
  • Effective presentation skills, ability to convey communication clearly

Working Conditions (Schedule, Environment, Travel)

  • Hours will vary depending on the needs of the business. Nights, Weekends, and Holidays are to be expected
  • Ability to travel regularly across the state of New Mexico (and other states as needed) to Schwazze locations
  • Limited overnight travel may be required as needed
