Job Summary

The qualified candidate will teach NSG 213: Pediatric Nursing. Candidates will teach class and lab in Fall 2023 on Tuesdays from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. The course is hybrid and will meet on campus seven times during the semester.

Anticipated Start Date: 8/1/2023

Job Duties:

  • Provides classroom, skills lab, and/ or clinical instruction for NSG 213: Pediatric Nursing.
  • Submit syllabus, no-show reports, final grades, and student learning outcomes to the director of nursing.
  • Submit early alerts for students needing additional assistance.
  • Provide quality customer service to students, faculty and staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Nursing required. Master’s or Bachelor’s in nursing preferred.
  • Current active, unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Kentucky
  • Minimum of two years full-time or equivalent experience in direct patient care of pediatric clients as a registered nurse within the immediate last five years.
  • Preferred experience in the classroom, skills lab, clinical teaching, curriculum design, and use of LMS technology, is preferred for this position.
  • Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills; demonstrate evidence of a career that includes flexibility and willingness to change; open-mindedness, fairness, and the ability to see multiple perspectives; a willingness to take risks, and willingness to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
  • Must have efficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, etc).

  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and, in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous teaching experience desired.
  • Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations is preferred.
  • Experience working at the community college level is preferred.

Proof of the following vaccinations may be required:

  • PPD (TB) Skin Test (less than one-year-old)
  • Tetanus (within the last ten years)
  • MMR (2 doses OR positive titer)
  • Varicella (2 doses OR positive titer OR proof of historical exposure)
  • Hepatitis B (3 doses AND positive titer OR positive titer only OR Waiver)
  • Flu vaccine for the current season
  • Covid vaccination
