BCI has an immediate opening for a full-time (32-hours per week) Payroll Specialist to process biweekly payroll for 180+ employees in 17 states, under the direction of the VP of Finance and Accounting and in coordination with Human Resources (HR). BCI uses ADP Workforce Now (WFN) platform with Tax SmartCompliance enabled.

Job Location: Moorestown, NJ

Job Start Date: within two weeks of hiring

Shift: Days - 32 hours per week, M-F

Experience Required:

  • Associate's degree in a business-related field is preferred or minimum four years of experience related to the duties of the position in lieu of a degree;
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) and/or the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation are a plus;
  • Familiarity with related Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Department of Labor rules and regulations as they pertain to the duties of this position; and
  • Minimum of four years' experience administering payroll and employment taxes using a third-party payroll provider.

Description of Duties:

The Payroll Specialist will assist in all activities regarding the management of employee compensation in the company and will undertake a variety of Payroll Specialist activities which include, but are not limited to:


  • Processes payroll bi-weekly through ADP WFN:
    • Calculates pay and deductions, issuing and distributing checks. This task includes processing employee reimbursements through the payroll process.
    • Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data into the payroll system, as well as retrieving data when necessary.
    • Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, garnishments, and job title and department/division transfers.
    • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
    • Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
    • Monitors the remittance of payroll taxes and governmental reporting.
    • Assists with monthly, quarterly, or year-end calculations of bonuses.
    • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information and interacting with HR.
    • Provides payroll information in the form of answering questions and requests from employees, management, HR, and vendors.
    • Maintains payroll operations by following internal company policies and procedures, and reporting needed changes.
    • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Communicates payroll deductions to third party administrators for 401(k) retirement plans and other pre-taxation savings plans such as both Medical and Dependent FSA programs.
  • Prepares accruals and reconciles payroll journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Ensures compliance with current government payroll regulations and reporting.

Must possess superior oral and written communication skills as well as skilled in using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Experience working in a deadline-driven environment. Must be organized, have strong attention to detail, and be able to handle multiple priorities.
