BASIC PURPOSE
To provide accurate, efficient, and professional coordination and support to the Operations and Logistics Departments. Primary job tasks include new SKU set-up/JDE revision, production planning, purchasing, and operations/logistics support. Tactical purchasing execution for assigned SKU’s to meet weekly schedules and MRP requirements, respond and react to sales order and forecast changes. Procure and plan supplies at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, quantity/price break, reliability of source, urgency of need, inventory turns ratio, and item cost standard. Provide short term back-up coverage in the case of absence/vacation for Operations, Document Control, and Copy Control. Additional support and assistance as requested.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
SKU Activity (New and Revision Updates)

  • Process Purple Sheets, issue SKU Item Code, monthly update of SKU Log
  • JD Edwards entry and update, item codes and Bills of Material / Routings, including Copy Changes, maintain JSOX Log

Production Planning Support

  • Enter all work orders in JDE as input to the Orchard Park Production Schedule, generate electronic work order pick lists as input to the Material Handling group
  • Evaluate supply versus need to identify and evaluate proper lot usage and potential component shortages, promptly communicate shortages to Purchasing (“Hot List”)
  • Enter Forecast updates in JDE to support MRP and long term strategic planning

Purchasing and Logistics Support

  • Enter all purchase orders in JDE, purchasing support tasks such as hardcopy print, gain countersignature approvals, distribution, and filing, provide SKU Specification Sheets with PO’s
  • Vendor contact for documentation (Certificate of Compliance, Safety Data Sheet, etc.)
  • MQI and AFD administration and tracking, as necessary

Buyer / Planner for assigned commodities

  • JDE MRP system to plan material needs and purchasing requirements, ensure materials are available on a timely basis to support production schedule/customer service requirements. Proper consideration for quality, inventory turns ratio, quantity/price break, purchase price variance, obsolescence risk
  • From the planning process, converts material requirements to purchase orders, places orders with approved suppliers to ensure that materials are received on time to meet production schedule requirements, expedite/defer/cancel according to sales order and forecast changes

Back-Up coverage for the following functions;
Production Documents

  • Maintain current and accurate master Packaging Record database by creating new and revising existing Packaging Records to ensure that required information is available for scheduled work orders.

Copy Coordination

  • Generate / revise packaging specifications
  • Coordinate development of copy to meet schedules

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
