Cape Fox Shared Services and Eagle Health are seeking an Occupational Health Field Nursel to provide nursing services to employees for protection, promotion, and optimization of health and prevention of illness and injury at the FDA health units in the National Capital Region.

The nurse will provide occupational health services across the US, coordinating with vendors and working in the field. The role does not involve bedside care but primarily involves administrative work and communication with patients over the phone. This is not a remote position.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assess and assist in the evaluation and treatment of injuries and illnesses for FDA employees as part of the healthcare team
  • Lead the initial and annual surveillance programs offered to employees
  • Documenting all employee injuries and illnesses within the health unit
  • Administer immunizations and medications as indicated
  • Assist in the preparation of employees for work-related travel as part of the travel medicine program
  • Educate employees on occupational risks including protective equipment, safety, and obtaining treatment in response to exposures and injuries
  • Participate in wellness program administration
  • Function in cooperation with policy and regulations impacting occupational health
  • Responsible to maintain appropriate equipment maintenance schedules, ordering supplies, vaccines and medications
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the quality of services provided in the occupational health units
