JOB REQUIREMENTSEducationMust be a high school graduate or equivalent with courses in health, biology, anatomy and mathematics.ExperienceA minimum of 6 months experience in Neurodiagnostic Testing required and/or completion of competency checklist. Must be able to use a calculator and perform simple math calculations for reporting statistics to physician. Must be computer literate. Must maintain current CPR card.PhysicalNormal hospital environment. Close eye work. Hearing of both normal and soft tones. EMG machine, EEG, and ENG equipment. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and bending. Lifting up to 100 lbs. and carrying up to 40 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 350 lbs.This is a safety sensitive position. JOB SUMMARYTechnician is responsible for the preparation of patient, preparation of equipment used in procedures, and assisting physicians with neurological testing. Responsible for supplies. Attention to details for short periods of time. Records numerical values for physicians during testing. Transports patients and files records as assigned. Performs ENG testing, EEG testing. Assists physician in EMG/NCV studies. Must demonstrate tact, patience, manual dexterity, and the capacity to deal with visual and electrical concepts. Types reports and fills out DME forms for Sleep Disorder Center. Registers patients for department. Assists with Sleep Clinic when needed.
