Hollenbeck Palms is hiring a full time moving assistant for our Resident Services Department.

The position will be AM hours primarly Mon-Fri but may require weekend availability and some flexibility to cover other colleagues when needed.

Position Purpose:

The Moving Coordinator Assistant is a material, equipment, furniture, and supplies handler who received items from the loading areas and transports them to departments or apartments as indicated. They also deliver bulk supplies for Members as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Takes work order requests verbally, in writing, or by telephone or pager, from Resident Services Supervisor and other department managers as need arises.
  • Assist new members with loading, unloading and move-in furniture, boxes and clothing.
  • Transfers of furniture, clothing and member belongings from apartment to apartment within Residential or within Nursing, or between Residential and Nursing.
  • Moves and arranges tables, chairs and patio furniture for special events in dining room, activity room,
  • patios throughout Hollenbeck, or elsewhere upon request.
  • Moves equipment, supplies and belongings to and from designated storage areas.
  • Receives deliveries and either stores them or takes them to designated departments.
  • Obtains special instructions and/or assistance of engineers or other staff in moving unusually heavy
  • equipment such as hospital beds and other items.
  • Delivers briefs, Kleenex, tissue and plastic bags to designated storage areas in Nursing.
  • Delivers kleenex and tissue to designated storage areas in Residential.
  • Participates in clearing and re-arranging storage areas ie. Hensel storage, Hostess storage, Bazaar rooms, etc.
  • Delivers heavy or large packages to members.
  • Monitors deliveries and inventories to assure secure storage deliveries to prevent theft and loss.
  • Responsible for keeping outside benches and patio furniture clean.
  • Responsible for keeping handrails outside buildings clean.
  • Responsible for emptying cigarette containers.
  • Report any broken furniture, [plant containers or anything else that needs repair to Supervisor.

Qualifications:

Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma/GED.

  • Experience working with seniors is helpful in long-term care environments.
  • Must show evidence of leadership, personal integrity, and creativity.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
  • Excellent customer services skills
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Must show sound judgement in emergency situations.
  • Must demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA Regulations.
  • Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, visitors, contractors and support agencies.
  • Clear criminal background with DOJ and FBI.

Physical Requirements of Position

  • Must be able to lift equipment, furniture, & supplies using proper body mechanics
  • Able to lift, pull, push items weighing over 50 lbs+.
  • Able to stand, walk, crouch, reach, and kneel frequently.
  • Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.85 - $19.00 per hour
