Our Fort Recovery Feed & Animal Division in Mercer County, Ohio, produces and delivers feed while providing support to our contract farmers raising animals for production. Cooper Farms is currently seeking Mill Receiving Support to join our team in Fort Recovery.

Job Functions

  • Assist in receiving all ingredients by weighing, obtaining samples, testing and directing drivers to the proper dump station.
  • Perform all assigned feed ingredient tests using the NIR machine to ensure ingredients contain expected nutrient levels. Maintain accuracy of the NIR machine.
  • Verify and organize scale tickets, batching records, truck logs and other items related to the receiving of ingredients and grain storage records.
  • Answer the phone and greet all customers in a welcoming manner.
  • Responsible for the traffic flow related to the scale as well as keeping the scale and receiving area clean and orderly.
  • Assist with the feed schedule by categorizing feed tickets and logging into the proper system.
  • Assist with month end inventory, placing ingredient orders and organic compliance.
  • Responsible for ensuring all bio-security practices are being followed by team members and customers. Accountable for the upkeep of the bio-security measures in place.
  • Enter new formulas and maintain scale head information for feed mill. Send diet selections and pricing to external vendors.
  • Responsible for ensuring driver books are up to date with correct feed tags.
  • Create, maintain and figure orders for pullet and layer projects in CAS.
  • Enter grain tickets, invoice, price PO’s and verify before entering inventory.
  • Responsible for order entry and ensuring appropriate drug labels are attached.
  • Perform as back-up to calculate external customers feed bills and track prepayments.
  • Assist the Formulation Assistant in the Lab in testing and screening of Feed.
  • Perform as back-up as Receiving Assistants for South Mill and Union City Mill.

Requirements

  • Associate degree and/or 2 years related experience.
  • Obtain Grain Grading License once in role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to keep detailed records, knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively while being able to adapt to different situations as the need arises, all while keeping a positive attitude.
