Our Mission: We are inspired by the Gospel to provide free primary healthcare services to the uninsured, low-income residents of Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio.

Matthew 25 is the only full-time center in Allen County offering medical, dental, vision, mental health counseling, and prescription services at no cost to qualified patients. Matthew 25 is a volunteer driven health practice that has hundreds of volunteers including physicians, dentists, nurses, front desk personnel, students and other lay volunteers. There are just over 30 staff members.

Matthew 25 receives no governmental monies and depends entirely on gifts from individuals, churches, organizations, and corporations, as well as grants from foundations.

Job Information

Position Title: Medical Receptionist Department: Front Desk

Reports to: Front Desk Manger FSLA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary

Greets patients, pulls up patient’s records and follows the procedures for checking in patients.

Duties/Responsibilities or Essential Functions

  • Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting them with a friendly face
  • Determines nature of the visit and helps escort or call the appropriate person to meet with the visitor
  • Aids in scheduling appointments
  • Scans patient documents
  • Answers incoming phone calls helping answer their questions or transferring them to the right extension
  • Gathers and puts patient documentation in the right location
  • Assists patients with paperwork questions
  • Updates patients records as needed
  • Provides general information about the organization such as hours and services
  • If patient provides a donation, receives the payment and records in the receipt book providing patient with copy of receipt
  • Aids in training new volunteers on the check in process
  • Assists in handling disputes or complainants at the front desk
  • Preforms other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma
  • Established skills in customer service

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to navigate various departments within the physical premises of the organization

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
