Medical Assistant in Westlake area for busy ENT Practice Job at Austin Association of Otolaryngologists, P.A.

A private otolaryngology practice located in Westlake, Texas has an immediate opening for a full-time medical assistant/scribe. This exciting opportunity is perfect for someone who wants to join a well-established, small practice and enjoys being in a team-oriented environment. This position will assist two physician's, and one physician assistant.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms by stocking materials and monitoring equipment
  • Assist provider with telemedicine health screening
  • Escort patients to exam rooms; take vital signs, record histories, medications, etc.
  • Assist with minor outpatient procedures as requested by provider
  • Perform insurance eligibility checks, prior authorizations, and prescription refills
  • Provide administrative assistance, schedule appointments, and scan/upload documents into the EHR/EMR.
  • Provide front desk support as needed to check-in/out patients
  • Answer and return clinic phone calls as appropriate.
  • Maintain all aspects of the laboratory in top working order by reordering supplies, checking expiration dates, etc.
  • Sanitation/sterilization of medical implements by autoclave and/or high level disinfectant
  • Perform other duties as needed, within the scope of the position

Skills:

  • Maintain a positive “all hands on deck” attitude
  • Comply with protocols, procedures, rules and regulations regarding scope of practice
  • HIPAA compliance
  • Punctuality with good attendance record and takes initiative to complete tasks
  • EHR/EMR knowledge and aptitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs

Required education:

  • High school or equivalent
  • Additional college level coursework in health science or nursing, a plus.

Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm*

*Hours are approximate, and may change depending on clinic needs. Competitive candidates will demonstrate flexibility and willingness to help meet the needs of the clinic.
