Math Pull-Out / Intervention Teacher Job at TMSA Public Charter Schools

Triad Math and Science Academy (TMSA) Greensboro, NC is searching for a Long-term Full time Math Pullout Teacher to assist with middle and high school grade math including Math 1, 2, and 3. Hours are flexible but would like a concrete schedule week after week. The school is a STEM based charter school. Applicants should have a degree in Math education or related field.


Applicants should be comfortable monitoring and tracking student performance data, maintaining student behavior, lesson planning, and differentiating instruction. The Math Intervention Teacher is a highly qualified teacher of mathematics who works with both middle and high school students who require strategic and intensive intervention in small-group settings. The focus of the Math Intervention Teacher is to work with regular classroom teachers to identify and close student achievement gaps in mathematics. More specifically, the intervention teacher works to ensure that students are able to master grade level standards and curriculum by instructing students in individual and/or small group settings.


Math Intervention Teacher Qualifications/Responsibilities:


  • Demonstrate exemplary classroom math instructional practice and possess a deep understanding of mathematics theory for the purpose of effective best practices to improve student achievement results and close achievement gaps.
  • Work with regular education students who are not yet demonstrating grade-level proficiency in math or require direct intervention to close known achievement gaps.
  • Deliver instruction in individual and/or small-group settings (8-14 students)
  • Assist teachers directly in the classroom when required
  • Develop instructional materials and coordinate the delivery of instruction with other teachers.
  • Regularly analyze data from interim assessment and other progress monitoring tools to assess student progress while delivering focused data-informed intervention to students.
  • Work with regular grade-level math teachers and members to evaluate student achievement for the purpose of placing students in appropriate intervention and support services.
  • Motivate struggling learners and work to change negative self-perceptions that some students have about their ability to be good at math
