Our Winchester, Virginia location is seeking a Raw Material Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the Raw Materials Logistics Team at the Winchester plant. The candidate will ensure on-time availability of raw materials at the lower transportation cost that are aligned with Working Capital (WoC) objectives while also considering Sales Forecast and Customer Demands. The position requires being in compliance with company policies and practices.

Job Description

  • Responsible for ensuring the availability of series/production raw materials for production in order to meet customer requirements on time and with the right quality
  • Responsible for creating releases based on Blanket PO’s and obtaining confirmations from suppliers
  • Maintain Vendor Portal for order entry as needed
  • Follow up on raw materials from supplier shipment until receipt at the warehouse
  • Provide all necessary documentation and information to related departments (traffic, warehouse, lab, etc.) to ensure proper receipt of raw materials (Invoice, Packing List, COA, Certificates of Origin, etc.)
  • Maintain ongoing Interaction/Communication with Production Logistics (Scheduling), regarding possible coverage gaps
  • Perform Cycle Counting as needed
  • Support physical inventory taking
  • Coordinate activities to implement improvements in the Raw Material Logistics department
  • Actively participate in improvement projects outside the Supply Chain Department
  • Track KPIs and generate monthly Raw Materials reports (Forecast, Days on Hand, Working Capital, etc.,.) and look for opportunities to improve
  • Train, develop and motivate the Raw Material Logistics team
  • Implementing disciplinary measures if necessary
  • Align with various standards and follow corporate values
  • You will be required to maintain a clean and safe environment at all times by following good housekeeping practices
  • Safety awareness in daily work to ensure a safe work environment at all times is a vital part of your role

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business (preferred), Supply Chain Management or relevant field or 4 years of relevant professional experience in lieu of degree
  • At least 4 years of relevant professional experience (preferred)
  • Prior experience required within Supply Chain Management / Logistics. (preferred)
  • Experience with Raw Materials Planning
  • 1 year leadership experience required
  • ERP such as Mapper or SAP knowledge preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Attention to detail and sense of urgency is a must
  • Excellent problem-solving skills are needed
  • Excellent communication skills are needed
  • Advanced knowledge with Inventory Control
  • Must be able to work proficiently in a manufacturing industrial environment which includes production and warehouse areas
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Works standard office hours (OT as needed)
  • Must be able to work in the US without visa or other sponsorship
