Job Description:


JM Family
is currently looking for a Mate to join our Marine department. Our Mates work on our Gallant Lady yachts performing a variety of tasks. Our Mate position is not live-aboard while at home port. During cruising season, Mates work 2 - 3 week assignments in the Caribbean, the Bahamas and New England. All boats are based in the Fort Lauderdale/Deerfield area. The ideal candidate will want a career in the cruising field.

How You'd Spend Your Day:
  • Cleaning and detailing interior and exterior of the vessels.
  • Providing exterior/interior maintenance, stewarding and guest services.
  • Providing fine dining and bar-tending services to guests.
  • Conducting guest tours of the vessels, assisting with snorkeling, fishing or sightseeing trips and other miscellaneous duties.
  • Our fleet consists of:
    • 172' Feadship
    • 65' Princess Sport Bridge
    • 45' Everglades Center Console
    • 30' Fluid RIB
Job Requirements:
  • Must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license and JMFE-approved driving record.
  • Prior hospitality industry and/or yachting/boating experience preferred.
  • Desire to pursue career in marine industry required.
  • Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills and professional demeanor required.
  • Ability to travel 2 to 3 weeks per month throughout the year; Must possess a valid US driver's license and a current passport.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of individuals.
  • Ability to assist guests with swimming and snorkeling activities.
  • Ability to adhere to strict no-smoking guidelines while aboard.
  • Ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time and frequently ascend and descend a ladder to service guest and crew.
  • Ability to constantly position/balance self about the yacht to including squatting, crouching and kneeling.
