As a Master Scheduler with Manitowoc Cranes you will develop the master production build schedule which runs the production factory, determines capacity requirements planning, outsourcing requirements and manpower loading. You will be responsible to provide leadership and direction. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops the master production build schedule (MPS) to support global requirements which runs the production factory, determines rough cut capacity planning, outsourcing requirements and manpower loading.
  • Translates global business plan and sales forecast into actionable / achievable build plan to ensure 100% OTIF, identifying potential capacity constraints.
  • Develops and maintains the inventory hedge strategy to provide flexibility for unit additions and sales order changes as well as protect against cyclic demand and variability ($5m-$15m).
  • Continuously monitors and adjusts MPS and hedge inventory to reduce working capital and optimize material input values.
  • Responsible to monitor and distribute key metrics to the Senior Leadership team including capacity resource planning (past due load included), On Time In Full for all product produced, performance to the TAKT rate and build plan, hedge inventory status, and stock counts.
  • Responsible for developing root cause analysis and resolve issues dealing with Planning, Engineering, Purchasing, Quality & Manufacturing.
  • Lead the initiative of maintaining ERP data integrity within the Materials Master Scheduling group. Continuously monitors the planning system for discrepancies that may cause inaccurate build requirements.
  • Acts as an internal educator and consultant on master scheduling issues; providing education and training throughout the company to improve company-wide understand of MPS functions, inventory transactions and discrepancies, CRP and MRP.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Master Production Schedule (MPS) is consistent with the release of new model engineering documentation.
  • Responsible to serve as team member for the daily Shortage and Production teams.
  • Has independent oversight and control over requested additions/changes to the build plan and requested changes to the existing configured product.
  • Manages and monitors weekly meetings with the global sales regions determining what product will be built as it enters a “frozen” manufacturing window.
  • Monitors and reports on requirements to have all machines configured to a customer specification as it enters the “frozen” window.
  • Has control over requests to modify the build plan based on adherence to the frozen manufacturing window. Coordinates special paint requirements for whole goods.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Associate degree with 5-8 years’ experience or 8-10 years’ experience in a materials/supply chain environment in lieu of education is also qualified for the position.
  • Highly motivated individual who can supervise team members and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to interact with all levels of the business.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project).
  • Ability to collaborate within a team environment and possess analytical aptitude.
  • ASCM (Association for Supply Chain Management) certification is desired.
