Marketing and Development Associate Job at America-Israel Friendship League

America-Israel Friendship League Remote

America Israel Friendship League (AIFL) Background

The America-Israel Friendship League (AIFL) is a 51-year-old not-for-profit organization that operates like a new and nimble startup. AIFL is dedicated to strengthening the relationship between the people of the United States and Israel by improving perceptions about Israel through people-to-people activities. While we remain true to our five decades-long mission of “making friends for Israel”, we constantly adjust to the changing times.

AIFL develops and promotes activities that increase the awareness and understanding of Israeli society and its core foundations. AIFL programs are intended to improve the general perception of Israel and to help both Americans and Israelis identify and appreciate their shared commitment to democracy, free speech, protection of human rights, the quest for knowledge and innovation, and the love and respect for life. AIFL is here to teach and expose people to the beauty of Israel, including its people, places, culture, food, technology, and more. AIFL aims to make the people of the United States and of Israel identify and advance those elements of their respective societies that create these bonds of mutual commonality. AIFL is therefore a hub of activities that are designed to introduce Israel for what it is—its plurality of thought and customs, its sense of self-preservation, and its innovative thought process, that not only make it a startup nation but also are applied globally to making our world better for everyone. These activities are as diverse as Israel is, not only in bringing Americans to Israel, but in bringing Israel to Americans.

Local Area Networks are small communities of people of like background (geographic, professional, social, etc.) who have a common interest in learning about Israel and engaging with the organization. The communities are engaged through meetings (virtual and in-person) of these small networks, evolving around customized activities designed around the interest of each group. The Marketing and Development Associate will be involved in managing these communities.
