Maintenance Mechanic - Housing Authority.
SALARY:$38,000 - $43,000 depending on experience.

NYS Retirement System and health benefits (including dental and vision). Sick time begins immediately with vacation time after six months.
LOCATION: City of Saratoga Springs, NY – Housing Authority.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four (4) years of experience in general building construction or maintenance activities involving the application of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades techniques.
- Eligibility for an appropriate level New York State driver’s license at the time of application; possession of a license at the time of appointment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
- Monday – Friday.
- 7:00 am – 3:00 pm with a weekly rotation of 'on call' availability required.
DUTIES:
- This class involves the performance of skilled maintenance and repair tasks.
- Incumbents generally devote most of their time to work in a single specialized field, but are required to occasionally perform maintenance tasks in other areas as the occasion demands.
- In this respect, the class differs from such classes as Painter Carpenter, Plumber, etc., which limits incumbents to a single trade.
- Duties of this class differ from those of Maintenance Workers because of the more skilled nature of the work involved and increased supervisory responsibilities.
- Employees in this class perform their duties with latitude for independent planning and laying out work details in completing assigned projects.
- The incumbent may either function on a particular task independently or act as a supervisor over several workers performing maintenance and repair tasks of an unskilled or semi-skilled nature.
- The incumbent does related work as required.
