Legal Secretary Job at DONIA LLC
Location: Binghamton, NY 13901
Work Schedule: 9AM-5PM
Target Duration/End Date: August 2023 (Temporary)
Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Answer phones
· Take care of visitors, consumers, attorneys, etc., at the reception window
· Open, date-stamp, and distribute office mail
· Open Attorney and Investigator files for Claims, Article 78, Habeas Corpus, Mental Hygiene, and other case files
· Work with designated AAG’s in preparing, proofreading, printing, copying and mailing legal pleadings, letters, memos, etc.
· Work with Investigators in opening files, preparing certified mail, filing paperwork, etc.
· Responsible for the misc correspondence, communication, scheduling and recordkeeping
· Act as back-up to all office support staff when they are absent
Education:
Associate or Bachelor's degree with at least Three Years of experience as a Legal Secretary is preferred
Skills and Experience Requirements:
· Candidate(s) with a strong attention to detail, a high level of quality, strong problem solving skills, dependability and demonstrated priority and time management skills
· Candidates should have a working knowledge of contract terminology, including the ability to recognize contract structures, as well as, key contract terms
· Familiarity with procurement contracts is a plus
· Knowledge of government contracts is helpful but not required
· Good communication skill is a must
· Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel is required
· Working knowledge of office equipment, computer hardware and scanner
· Detail oriented, accurate and thorough
