Overview


The Lead Medical Assistant provides direct patient care and works with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to our patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as a resource for Medical Assistants (MA) in their principal duties and responsibilities.
  • Provides training and support to MA staff for the EHR and scheduling programs.
  • Provides resource support for MA interactions with physicians and payer interactions.
  • Provides support to MA staff by playing a key role in implementing and executing core initiatives.
  • Plays a supporting role in training and orienting new staff.
  • Provides input in creation of front office processes and protocols.
  • Supports practice management in institution of white page policies.
  • Works directly with practice management with scheduling templates.
  • Participates in revenue cycle by ensuring authorizations and referrals are in place and notifying the Billing Associate of needs for further authorizations.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and Company policy.
  • Communicates effectively and courteously and demonstrates a caring attitude toward patients and their families.
  • Acts in a non-directive, non-judgmental manner recognizing an individual’s religious, ethical, and moral opinion/belief. Treats all patients and their families with dignity and respect.
  • Presents a positive, professional appearance and conveys a professional demeanor in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Responsible for following all facility, organization and department precautions and procedures in the performance of all job duties to ensure a safe work environment for self and others.
  • Completes compliance requirements as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
  • The expected pay for the position ranges from $20.00 - $29.00 per hour. The actual pay range will be computed based on years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

Education Level: Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants.
Experience Years: Minimum of five years’ experience in a healthcare setting.
Experience Industry: Healthcare.

CPR Certification is required.

Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
