Job Summary and Qualifications

SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*

1 Performs all mammographic procedures, including sterotactic bx

2 Observant of patients’ conditions.

3 Practices radiation safety as described in Federal standards, utilizing ALARA policy.

4 Understands and operates relevant electronic information systems.

5 Demonstrates ability to perform quality control functions daily inclusive of MQSA Quality

control functions for mammography.

6 Participates in continuing education activities to expand/enhance knowledge of Mammography and to meet the continuing education requirements of regulatory agencies and ARRT.

7 Ensures protocols are current and available to staff.

8 Participates in evaluation and selection of equipment. In conjunction with staff members, assures that equipment functions as required.

9 Participates in development and implementation of Performance Improvement goals.

10 Communicates positively and effectively with all lead techs, manager, peers, and other customers.

11 Provides technical guidance for staff in Mammography/Breast Center area.

12 Coordinates schedules. Participates in selection and evaluation of new employees.

13 Maintains appropriate supply levels in the work area.

What qualifications you will need:

EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED: Experience as a registered mammograher.

PREFERRED: One-year as a staff mammographer

EDUCATION

REQUIRED: Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology. Responsible for continuing education credits as mandated by the ARRT for licensure.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

REQUIRED: American Registry of Radiologic Technology

REQUIRED: ARRT - Mammography Certification

REQUIRED: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider
