AMPI owns eight Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation’s American-type cheese, processed cheese and butter is produced. All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.

  • This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.
  • Check line process equipment to make sure they are clean and free of any foreign material.
  • Sanitize cheese cutter, presses, tables and all equipment used to produce cheese on the production floor.
  • Required to perform daily checks for sanitation with ATP swabs. Follow the procedure for this.
  • Assemble all equipment for cheese production and record any daily log counts.
  • Required to use all good GMP practices while handling cheese and between vats.
  • Required all line employees should always have clean aprons and gloves in good condition.
  • Must be able to run acidity on the cheese at appropriate times and record results. 10. Must be able to place cheese in hoop pans, work cheese presses and cheese cutter.

I . Must be able to place cheese in mold and lift drain boards while flipping cheese on boards.

  • Required all line employees must be able to record the vat information for each vat including amount produced, time of actions and conditions.

Employees are regularly exposed to cold temperatures when performing tasks in storage areas. Employees are regularly exposed to warm or hot temperatures with moderate to high humidity levels varying based on the location of the work area. The employee is regularly exposed to wet walking surfaces. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
