Salary: $85,000 - $100,000/year


Position

The Innovation & Development Engineer will support individual material and process development projects related to developing new composites products in variety of aerospace applications through conceptual design, process technology development and validation testing in the customer applications.


Innovation & Development Engineer will:

  • Plan and conduct designed experiments to define optimal material process. Perform statistical analysis of the results. Provide reports to the team and management.
  • Support pilot scale production of new composite products and components and document processes via standards and/or work instructions.
  • Work closely with and guide technicians through the process development, prototype fabrication, test, and documentation.
  • Participate in project teams as assigned to design, model, analyze, fabricate new product designs prototypes in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Evaluate composite materials manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
  • Investigate engineering considerations, perform advanced analysis, and make appropriate conclusions and recommendations to meet business objectives and customer needs.
  • Interact with internal partners participating in project activities as assigned by the program leader.
  • Interact with internal team members, including remote team members, and keep them updated on project status.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of various types of composites technology, knowledge of more than one material systems is a plus
  • Understanding of application of a broader set of composites materials, their properties, temperature capability and manufacturing and use limitations
  • Knowledge and experience with application of statistical tools
  • Understanding of material process development


Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience

Pay

SEKISUI Aerospace is required by Washington law to include the salary range for this role when hiring a Washington resident. Pay ranges may be higher or lower for non-resident WA employees, based on the market data for their region, allowing us to pay employees competitively in different geographic markets.
