JOB SUMMARY

Supports the Mission, Vision and Values of the Hospital. Contributes to team integration and patient focused care by performing duties associated with general building heating, ventilation and air conditioning. Special emphasis is placed on oversight and management of the building-wide control systems for HVAC. Completes general building HVAC installations, upgrades and repairs to include projects based on knowledge and experience concerning scope of required services.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS


Education: High School graduate

Experience: 5 years HVAC experience in commercial, industrial or hospital

Licensure: Associated State and Federal licenses/certifications for refrigerant and EPA type IV Universal Certification

Skills: Must have formal training in HVAC and related system control networks. Able to do all-around building HVAC systems installation, repair and control. Prefer experience in refrigeration systems and control. Able to read blueprints and working specifications. Ability to use trade specific hand and power tools. Numerical skills and form perception.


PHYSICAL AND MENTAL EFFORT

Position may require pushing/pulling objects up to 100 lbs and lifting objects up to 50 lbs; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching; manual and finger dexterity; visual and color discrimination; hearing for normal sounds with background noise; concentrating on detail and attending to task/function for 45-60 minutes at a time; remembering multiple tasks/assignments over long periods of time.


ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Works in all areas of the facility. Subject to heat, noise and vibration of operating equipment and bodily injury from burns and falls while working on building systems, cuts and injury from power equipment. Exposure to hazardous equipment and materials per department listing. May work under emergency conditions. Work varied hours as assigned to complete projects and perform preventive maintenance work.
