About This Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Position

HopeHealth is seeking an experienced Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for its affiliate HopeHealth Visiting Nurse.

This position is headquartered in Lincoln, RI.

The Home Care Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education aimed at improving and enhancing the patient's wellbeing while following the established plan of care.

This is a part-time 32-hours per week position that is eligible for benefits.

This team has opportunities in the following geographical areas:

  • Providence
  • North Providence
  • Cumberland
  • Lincoln


What will you do?

  • Contribute to physical therapist's effectiveness by identifying patient care issues; providing information and commentary; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physical therapy directives.
  • Assess abnormal conditions by reviewing physical therapist's interpretations of patient evaluations and test results.
  • Document patient care services by charting in electronic health record.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily living activities; and in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
  • Secures positive clinical and quality outcomes according to state and national benchmarks.
  • Case management and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in oncall, weekend, and holiday rotations as needed.
  • Facilitate and participate in weekly case conferences.


What are the qualifications for this job?

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program
  • Currently licensed to practice as a registered physical therapy assistant in Massachusetts
  • Dually licensed in Massachusetts and Rhode Island preferred
  • Minimum 1-year experience as a physical therapist assistant.
  • Home care experience preferred
  • Current/valid driver's license and automobile.
  • Experience in use of Electronic Medical Record
