ShearWorx has an immediate openings for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator. The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for running 490 sized excavator or larger with shear attachment and/or loading material with similar sized or larger excavators. Employee will be preparing (cutting up) scrap metal to a size that is acceptable to the steel mill of the customer's choice or loading prepared scrap into dump trailers.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must Have:

  • Experience running an excavator with second member Shear attachment (this is a must have)
  • Understands the limits & safe operation of a Shear
  • Working knowledge of the metal preparation process
  • Have a functional smartphone with proper storage to install and use 1-2 apps for work purposes

Nice-to-Have:

  • 5+ years’ experience working with Rail Cars and/or the scrap industry
  • Possess leadership skills
  • The ability to operate related equipment (Material Handler, Forklift, Excavator w/ Thumb, Rock Truck, & etc…)
  • Mechanically inclined w/ ability to diagnose minor mechanical issues
  • Willingness to travel at times (Company reimbursed Fuel, Hotel, & Food)
  • Provide personal transportation, if travel is necessary
  • Ability & Knowledge to change more mechanical repair components
  • Working understanding of Hydraulic systems on equipment

COMPENSATION RANGE:

$750 - $1500 Weekly (based on experience)
