· Extensive knowledge of record management, problem identification/solving methods, consultation methods, and the ability to apply these to HIV and STD Prevention and Surveillance activities.

· Extensive knowledge on health inequities and social determinants of health.

· Ability to effectively and appropriately represent the Program, the Division, and/or Agency at local, state, or nationwide events regarding population health and public health.

· Ability to work effectively with external organizations, individuals, health care professionals, and clinic staff.

· Ability to work with and maintain confidential information and security of HIV and STD surveillance data.

· Ability to learn about state and federal departments and agencies which have programs or services working with and for HIV and STD Surveillance.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and the ability to synthesize and integrate new, evidence-based public health research and models. Ability to learn and use Microsoft programs, including but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Additionally, ability to use programs such as Adobe Acrobat, and videoconferencing services such as Zoom or WebEx.

· Ability to engage in investigative actions in an honest and purposeful way that follows all local, state, and federal HIPAA regulations.

· Ability to travel throughout the state to assist with emergency response efforts, including other public health emergency needs that may occur within the department of health, such as, but not limited to: testing events, coverage for public health emergencies, etc. The incumbent will act as the IDOH representative and assist with activities assigned by the program staff. Travel can often be required overnight, up to 25% of the time.
