About the role


Our Engineering Department is looking for a hardware engineer with a solid understanding of telecom systems.

If you enjoy learning new systems, have a talent for thinking out of the box, and creativity when it comes to solving problems that seem to have no solution, we want to hear from you!


Responsibilities:

  • Turning up and troubleshooting a vast array of telecom systems (Fujitsu, Alcatel-Lucent, Nokia, Juniper, Tellabs, Nortel)
  • Engaging in advanced problem-solving with limited to no documentation available – this is where we want to see your creativity!
  • Develop new, improve existing and evaluate diagnostic and repair methods and test procedures suitable for a wide range of legacy and new electronic products
  • Automate tests and diagnostic processes
  • Help facilitate production capabilities and processes through effective enablement
  • Work in sync with the purchaser to determine product specifications
  • Write technical specifications, train test personnel, present technical demos – helping others is critical to our success.


Experience & Skills:

  • 4+ years of experience as a telecom hardware engineer or field engineer.
  • Solid working knowledge of copper and optical telecom equipment
  • Working knowledge of electronic components, their function, main electrical parameters and typical failure modes an asset
  • Ability to develop and document diagnostics, test procedures, etc.
  • Experience in PCB Layout design
  • Test Automation development through SCPI, GPIB, etc. an asset
