Job Summary:

Provides administrative support to the appropriate administrative official by providing advice, records, reports, and overseeing clerical staff.

Job Duties:

Advises officials concerning administrative matters. Participates in the formulation of programs and special projects as assigned. Complies information from records and reports in order to prepare special project reports and analysis. Assists with the development of reporting systems. Maintains a central control system for department assignments. Oversees setup of committee meeting packets and distribution of information. Provides referral services to individual, public inquires, and Cherokee Nation components. Issues and interprets operating policies. Reviews and answers correspondence. Assists in the preparation of budget needs and annual reports of the organization. Compiles, stores, and retrieves management data. Maintains records, files, and reports. Other duties may be assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Minimal supervisory responsibility (i.e. lead position).

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT

Associate's degree from a 2-year college or technical school; or two (2) years (60 credit hours)
coursework from a 4-year college or university; or three (3) years of related experience; or an equivalent
combination of education and experience.


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

An additional one (1) year of experience in a related field.


COMPUTER SKILLS

An individual should know Database software, Internet software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.

The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel and talk or hear. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), outdoor weather conditions, and the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
