Summary


The Machine Maintenance Mechanic I works with minimal oversight and supervision to maintain, clean, and service machinery while using company equipment and vehicle for transportation. Machine Maintenance Mechanic I performs comprehensive independent diagnostic analysis, preventative equipment maintenance, and repair work while consistently demonstrating safe and efficient work practices with a positive and professional attitude and demeanor.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance of machinery
  • Properly clean, align, and test core functions of machines
  • Recognize core function issues and report them to management for repair
  • Understand most effective cleaning methods for machines
  • Clean and clear machine mechanisms of obstructions
  • Repair/replace all parts within a machine, including mechanical and electrical parts, belts, bearings, boards, buttons, switches, signals, small motors and pulleys.
  • Follow troubleshooting logic to determine issues with non-functioning machines.
  • Maintain and repair belts, motors, sensors, and signal wires
  • Swap out components in control panels
  • Lift, carry and raise to a level of 5 feet items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Adhere to Safety Standards and policies
  • Clean and maintain work area and equipment to ensure a safe work environment
  • Occasionally cut, torch, grind, weld, or perform hydraulic oil changes


Education/Experience

2+ years technical training

Minimum of 5+ years experience with industrial mechanics, welding, and hydraulic systems


Requirements – Skills, Job Knowledge & Abilities

  • Eelectrical and mechanical skills and knowledge around gears, pulleys, chains, machinery, and electronic controls.
  • Understanding and use of machine mechanic and technician level tools
  • Understanding of AC, DC, 5v, 24v, 110v, 208v3ph and multimeter usage
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team; a self-starter, but not hesitant to ask for direction when needed
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects, adhere to deadlines, handle frequent changes effectively and professionally, follow through on issues in a timely manner, and give excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with individuals at all levels with both internal and external partners
  • Own a tool kit; specialty tools will be provided
  • A current driver’s license and acceptable driving history is required
  • Regular, reliable, in-person attendance
