FPI Level I or Level II Inspector

Job Description:

The FPI Inspector is responsible for the non-destructive visual evaluation of surface defects or brazed, welded and formed precision aerospace parts using fluorescent penetration per applicable customer specifications. The job encompasses cleaning and preparation of parts followed by a visual inspection under black light using fluorescent penetrant liquid. The desired candidate must be able to work from complex and detailed blueprints and also verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· NAS410 Certified Level I or II FPI (PT) Inspector to work with the aerospace FPI operation (method A, Water Wash).

· Performs fluorescent penetrant inspection under black light to company specifications and customer expectations in a manner consistent with the company’s quality and productivity standards

· Ability to read blueprints and specifications

· Cleans and dries parts per work instructions

· Tag any non-conforming parts with re-work labels

· Prepare test reports to document findings as needed

· Ability to create and complete inspection documentation

· Ability to perform data entry of inspection results into computer system

· Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times

· Demonstrates a positive attitude along with a willingness to do what needs to be done to move to other lines and departments to fill company needs along with the desire to learn and improve skills

· Follow all safety guidelines and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

· Performs all tasks and duties as assigned by Leadership

· Work with the Quality Assurance Manager in supporting internal, customer and NAFCAP FPI Audits

· All of these objectives must be carried out in a safe and appropriate manner while maintaining an acceptable level of quality and efficiency and strong attention to detail

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or GED required

· Current FPI Level I or FPI Level II Certificate required

· Experience with aerospace/defense products preferred

· Understanding of the NADCAP process and requirements is highly desirable

· Sheet metal background preferred
