SALARY: $18.84 Per Hour + .50 shift differential


The Warehouse Driver works as part of the warehouse operations team, delivering items and packages from one location to another, usually to other warehouses. This job involves loading box trucks and updating records and paperwork.


Available Shift: Sunday - Thursday 9:30 pm to 6:00 am

You will be responsible for...

  • Review route sheets
  • Inspect invoices to ascertain all stock requirements
  • Load merchandise thoughtfully to facilitate quick access
  • Cart pertinent stock as necessary
  • Collect defective and otherwise ill-suited product
  • Collaborate with Receiving department to unload stock
  • Issue any dated delivery notes
  • Load and unload products
  • Make sure delivery vehicle and any associated equipment remain clean, tidy and in good working order
  • Follow safe lifting practices
  • Communicate with delivery locations to ensure they are aware of the delivery time slot assigned
  • Report any incidents (issues) with a delivery or problems with the vehicle or equipment to management
  • Manage any paperwork associated with deliveries; keep up-to-date inventory of delivery records to make sure the right items are delivered to the correct location.
  • Follow ISO/TL9000 requirements as it pertains to position
  • Following all health and safety procedure and regulations as dictated by Superior Communications and the State of TN
  • Operating a forklift with care and awareness of people and the environment around the machine
  • Ensuring the forklift is properly stored, fueled, cleaned, & ready to operate; performing light maintenance on machine as needed
  • Utilizing warehouse radio frequency (RF) scanners to move inventory
  • Properly loading Full Truck Load (FTL)/Less Than Truck Load (LTL) trucks
  • Following and updating inventory activity, lists, records, and log of all completed tasks
  • Moving inventory and product across the facility
  • Stacking and organizing large bulk items
  • Removing product from delivery trucks or shipping, taking to proper location
  • Carrying products for shipping to proper truck
  • Moving inventory from facility to pick-up locations, or other locations
  • Making note and requesting any damaged forklift parts or replacements needed
  • Submitting inventory records at close of workday

  • Able to count and recognize product
  • Able to follow instructions and be a quick learner
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma, or GED
  • Demonstrable, varied experience as a warehouse driver
  • Class D driver's license (Regular DL)
  • Clean driving history
  • Knowledgeable about relevant vehicle weight restrictions
  • Customer-oriented, communicative, and efficient

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works in a warehouse/distribution center setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and can be loud. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and maneuver around pallets. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Must be able to climb a ladder and retrieve stock.
