Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Mechanical or Electronic Technology
  • Technical School graduate (Electrical/Mechanical Background)
  • High School Graduate
  • Experience working with electro-mechanical equipment would be a plus.
  • Ability to read basic electrical schematics would also be a plus.
  • Not afraid to get ‘dirty’ at times.

The Company will train qualified individuals (including on-the-job training), which will take a variable amount of time depending upon the applicant’s work background, education, and ability to learn/understand the Company’s equipment and technologies.

Field Service Representatives must possess a strong work ethic, a high energy level, very good communicative skills, and willing to travel approximately 50% of the time nationwide, and perhaps occasional travel abroad. This is a salaried position with additional compensation when traveling on behalf of the Company and its customers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist customers (on site) starting-up equipment.
  • Train customer operators (on site) in the use of Equipment.
  • When necessary, repair/replace problematic or failed components on site.
  • Warranty replacements must be approved since equipment warranty stipulations have time limitations, which usually requires Factory verification.
  • Field Service Representatives share responsibility for off-hours customer phone assistance (24-hour assistance), typically over weekends/holidays (compensated accordingly).
  • When not traveling, Field Service Representatives perform the following functions:
  • Follow-up on your last Field Service Visit with the customer to ensure all is well.
  • Test completed Weigh Feeders, Water Treatment, and certain other equipment prior to shipment.
  • Provide telephone and other types of assistance to customers.
  • Assist Electrical Production testing completed control panels.
  • When necessary, write follow-up letters/memos to customers (such documentation must be reviewed by the Field Service Manager and perhaps, also by Sales prior to mailing).
  • With the applicable in-house personnel, investigate unusual problems that may have been experienced in the field.
  • Maintain all expense reports current.
